Giving Birth is painful!

Please file under "Uh, how do I bring this up without blushing?"

Hey! Giving birth is hard! It's been described as passing a jumbo jet through the eye of needle! So why not make it easier by using the Epi-No? This funky weird sexual looking asexual device is a balloon attached to a pump that one uses to prepare for child birth! One inserts the balloon into the vagina and then inflates the balloon for about twenty minutes each day! You're supposed to inflate it a bit more daily! The goal being to "stretch the area in readiness for the big stretch of childbirth"! I suppose that using the Epi-No is a lot better than having the doctor slice your perineum (called an episiotomy) during child birth.

At $135, one wonders if this is a hard sell or an easy sell!! Read more at Daddy Types, the weblog for new dads: RE: Your Wife's (&c.) Perineum Check out the vendor website at Birth International.

Its not melodic enough!

Well, Leela or Leila was the conversation (nay, debate) last week and the final decision.... Leila (or Layla, or Laila, or Leyla, or etc... spelling to be determined , the next debate!). Why, you may ask, Why? Well, this humble author's opinion was that Leyla is more melodic and, what's the word?, oh yes, lyrical than Leela. It just sounds better.

And so, Layla, meaning evening or night.

PS. Happy now? Josh.

Think and control the structure of water!

The thought "Love"

I first heard of Doctor Emoto in the movie "What the Bleep do we Know?" (A great documentary about metaphysics and quantum physics BTW). This article expounds a little about his work and shows how your thoughts can influence the shape and structure of water crystals! Wild and Crazy sh*t! Considering that the human body is 70% water, imagine the ugliness we create within ourselves when we feel anger and hate. The flipside is the unimaginable beauty we create when we think and feel love and happiness! Read more at Masaru Emoto: Messages from Water

BTW, I am continuously amused that the Doctor's name is Emoto. It's like he jumped out of a Flash Gordon pulp! "Yes! I am Emoto and I control water with my thoughts! Take that Flash Gordon! Ha!"

Save the world, one car at a time!

If I ruled the world, every car would be a hybrid. At least until the advent of fuel cell cars. A good first step is taking the gas guzzler out of the SUV. Here is a review of the Toyota Highlander Hybrid edition! CNN.com - Wheels: Toyota Highlander Hybrid - Jun 22, 2005

Its Scary being a parent! Mercury and Autism

Its really important to vaccinate your newborns! But its a tough choice when the vaccines contain mercury! Since the onset of thimerosal as a perservative in vaccines in 1989, 1 in 166 children developed autism. Prior to 1989, the probability of autism was 1 in 10,000! That's right boys and girls, thats ONE in TEN THOUSAND! Luckily, in 1999, they started to phase thimerosal out. That's still TEN whole years, a decade that the government, your doctors, the FDA all promoted these vaccines! My question to you is: Who the hell are you supposed to trust?!!!! Read one of many article at The Age of Autism: Mercury ascending or google news for more stories.

Choosing a pediatrician

Yesterday afternoon, Deb and I interviewed our first pediatrician. Luckily for us, we're pretty sure its our last as we both liked Dr. M. In case you've never gone to one of these before, try to avoid the deer in the headlights look. We asked questions like: What hospital are you affiliated with? Who do we deal with during off hours? Do you favor a more natural approach or do you like writing scripts right away? That last one was a clincher for both Deb and me. Both of us like to try to use medication as a last resort! Over medicating has been an issue that we've been reading about (and that Deb has experienced first hand) and we liked that the doctor likes to try more natural remedies first. The most important thing however was that we both liked the Doctor. She was nice, younger, comfortable and willing to spend as much time with us as we wanted. She took care to answer all our questions carefully. Over all, we both enjoyed her very much.

What a relief. The search for a doctor is over. Onto the search for day care!

Throwaway one time use Camcorder!

CVS will start selling a onetime use camcorder! Just like the onetime use cameras! For $30 you buy a disposable camcorder, use it and then return it to CVS for processing onto a DVD. Processing is an extra $12! I don't know, 12 uses and you may as well buy a new multi-use camcorder! I'm still curious to see it though! Scoring only a 5 of 10 on the UberCool scale, one wonders how long before it is hacked! Read more at Drugstore begins selling disposable camcorder | CNET News.com

Neptune here we come!

Finally! A new propulsion system currently in development by NASA will allow us to explore the outer planets! This Ion engine accelerates slowly but builds up to incredible speeds that will allow us to make the outer planets in a much shorter time than before. UltraCool!
