Nuclear Desktop Fusion! Can laptop fusion be far behind?
Ah physics! It's deep, hard to understand, and at a core level, intersects with philosophy coming in from the opposite direction. This article is relatively simple as far as physics though! Fusion is becoming more and more viable as new research and experiments continue to show. Read more at New Scientist Breaking News - Desktop nuclear fusion demonstrated

Star Wars:Revelations a stinky cheese
This is not to say that stinky cheese is bad. There are many excellent stinky cheeses out there as many cheesaholics will attest! And this short film is exactly like that. You have to be a Star Wars-aholic to really enjoy this ripe piece of work. I'll say this: The FX was pretty good, and when you factor in that it was done on less than $17K, then, well then the FX was unbelievable! And the plot was tight, moving along at a good clip. Once again though, you had to be a hard core fan to track all that was going on. Still very good, very tight never a slow moment paced movie.
Now for the bad. The acting was awful. Honestly gentle reader, it was porn flick bad. With shrugs, pouts, over acting, under acting, you name it! If it could have made the acting worse, then it was in there. It was so bad, it was funny. Hence the high cheese factor! Boy did it stink!
Still, for a hardcore fan, it was awesome! Really enjoyable, really fun shlock is my final verdict. I rate it a 6.5 out of 10! A 7.5 for diehards!

Star Wars Fan Film "Star Wars:Revelations" released!

A 40 minute fan film created in the Star Wars universe was released this month to much fanfare (get it? fan fare!). I'm downloading the 250 MB Quicktime file as we speak, and fear not faithful reader, a review will be available in short order!
And yet, I can't help but think it will be better than the trash GL has been throwing at us in Episodes I and II. What a disappointment those films were and what a let down after the first trilogy that raised our expectations so high! And yes, I'm still going to see Episode III when it comes out, but probably not on opening day.
Anyway, back to Revelations, this kind of stuff is exciting because it's a Hollywood style big budget FX extravaganza that was done on less than $17K! But even better than that, you have to give GL kudos for allowing fans to participate in the myth he created and expand upon it for the enjoyment of all. Viacom could learn a lesson here since all they've done is strangle and choke the life out of Star Trek to the detriment of the franchise and the license. You go George! And you go Panic Studios! And we go Fans! Download and watch the movie at PANIC STRUCK PRODUCTIONS PRESENTS .. STAR WARS REVELATIONS - download the movie here
Brooklyn's Very Own Cake Man (and NO, that's not his title, that's his name!)
I like cake. This cake though should not be eaten cuz its a work of art! Apparently, Mr. Cake Man Raven produces outlandish, over-the-top cake creations for celebs such as Mary J Blige, Rev Al Sharpton, et al. And it don't just look purty either. There is a symbolic meaning to the person the cake is being created for. I quote:
For the Rev. Al Sharpton, he once made a model of the Bible turned to Timothy 2:15 ("Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved")Very cheeky Mr. Cake. Very cheeky indeed. Cool Stuff you can do with HTML. eg: Lilypie.com
Some really cool stuff is being done in HTML (web code) these days. Among the least cool (but very high cool for me) is the ability to embed in one website dynamic graphics from another website. For example, notice the pregnancy timeline for the twins at the top of this page. This graphic will change daily and will countdown to "The Day!". Pretty cool stuff and very easy to implement. Simply go to Lilipie.com, click on some options and the code is automagically generated for you. Simply embed code into your very own webpage (preferably the template) and tada! a timeline on your website. Ubercool! Check it out at: Lilypie : Free baby days : v2.0

L Train has no conductor
This is news? Riders of the L Train have known for years that it is driven as if there is no one behind the wheel! Apparently, the MTA is piloting an automated train service that will run without conductors. The hope is that more trains will run more frequently with less error. A quote from the article:
L-line trains will run without conductors, except in emergencies, coasting along at preordained speeds and stopping automatically at stations, a lone train operator in the front car watching the controls.I for one am curious to see how it turns out. Play 20 questions with an articifical intelligence!
IMHO, it's actually pretty cool. My word was 'lamb' and in 18 questions, it guessed sheep. Pretty darn close but I decided to say "NO! That's wrong, Artificial Intelligence, guess again!", so it did and guessed 'lamb' by question 24! Check it out at 20Q.net

$100 for 8 (yes! That's eight!) pieces of Chocolate?
If you know me, you know that chocolate is my addiction, but even I have to stop and think before plunking down $12.50 for one truffle! What makes them special? I'm glad you asked! Noka (the manufacturer) is focusing on single origin chocolates. That is to say, a single piece of chocolate will only have cocoa beans from the same specific geographic region. Let me know how the Côte dIvoire tastes, I'm trying the Ecuadorian truffle right now. Read more at Noka Single-Origin Chocolates - Luxist - www.luxist.com
