Mary visits NY, EH?

Mary Tia 020505-037
My sister Mary and her friend Tia visited this weekend from Toronto. I hadn't seen my sister in a long time and it was great to see her and reconnect. We walked and talked from Delancy St., to Ground Zero. Then we crossed the Brooklyn Bridge on the way home.

Along the way, we stopped to eat in China Town. While our main dishes were only OK, the appetizers were absolutely awesome. Afterwards, we went to the Ice Cream factory on Mott St. for ginger ice cream. If you haven't tried ginger ice cream, you are missing out on one of the most amazing ice cream flavors ever invented.

Ground Zero was our next stop. Its hard to write about. We started talking about where we were and what we were doing on 9/11. We snapped a few photos and walked down the Hall of Heroes before heading towards the Brooklyn Bridge.

The Brooklyn Bridge is the most beautiful bridge to walk across. It's really remarkable. We snapped a few more photos as we finished our walk home. By then, it's been about 4 hours of walking and we were getting tired. We trudged the last hour home and promptly took naps before dinner. :) Definitely a sign that we were getting old.
