Incredibly cool innovation for tires OR How the real world caught up with Science Ficiton

In Neil Stephenson's book Snow Crash (BTW, one of the greatest reads of all time!) he writes about super cool tires on futuristic cars. Well, Michelin has introduced these amazing no air tires, with telescoping spokes that expand or retract as you go over bumps or potholes. Really cool.
